What wine with ...

Wife picked it up. Says she was standing at the shelf staring at the box when a woman next to her said that she had them the other day, “And they were really good.” Surprised me that she bought them as she’s not a fan, but I am. Guess one of us has taste.

Suppose it’ll have to be a Chardonnay. lol

I’d say throw a chopped up serrano chile to the mix then go with a Gewurz

Be careful. If you are anywhere near the box with a glass of wine (white, no less!), a hand will pop out and slap your face.

Speaking of boxes…

What’s the cheapest box wine you can find? If only you’d had some time to ferment concord grape juice!

You need to have Zinfandel:

Mix batter and place in tins
Cut preferred hot dog in to three pieces
Push one piece of hot dog into each muffin
Bake according to instructions

Place three muffins on micro wave safe plate
Cover with chili and grated cheddar
Micro wave for one and a half minutes on high

Serve with Gamba old vine Zinfandel

This is the least pretentious wine and food post in the history of WB!

And it sounds like it kicks ass.

Hey there…I like Gamba, fer chrissakes!!! [snort.gif]

with corn-anything??? Prolly not. pileon

Pabst Blue Ribbon. Don’t they make the cheap beers from corn anyway?

The Cable Guy is from Nebraska and is a supporter of Nebraska Cornhusker teams and we are talking corn muffins, so I suggest Big Red Wine from James Arthur Vineyards in Raymond, Nebraska. This vineyard is the largest winery in Nebraska. The Big Red is a blend of St. Croix, St. Vincent and Foch grapes. It is described as having an earthy and slightly vegetative nose (and corn is a vegetable.) Voila! (The JAV website suggests pairing The Big Red with pizza or hamburger but says it could also stand up to Nebraska steak.)

Gamba is a bit out of place price wise…

These corn muffins are probably going to be really sweet. I’m in agreement with Larry P and pop an off dry Gewurztraminer.

Or… Moscato. A sea of Moscato on the market right now… and it’s all under $10. You can’t go wrong with an off dry moscato with corn muffins.

I was thinking Riesling or bubbly…
