2004 PGC Anden Vineyard Pinot Noir. Only the second 2004 PGC I’ve had (first was the Notorious bottling, which may have had some Anden included). This, like that Notorious, is just a beautiful wine. ![]()

I’m glad of this. We made Anden in 2002-2006. I’ve always thought the 2004 was the red-headed stepcbild of that fivesomw. If it’s presently holding its own that’s a huge win.
I’ve been making respectable progress on my journey through older PGC wines, and I’ve been really rewarded. ![]()
I never had a chance to try what you and Patty were able to do with this section of Seven Springs. I was always hooked with what Mark Vlossak at St Innocent could do with it. Sadly, after the access to the Seven Springs site changed, I never purchased another bottle from the vineyard.
And those 2004s are insane. Well done Terry.
last night, 2023 Volcanic (from BD) - way too young, but outstanding.
I just opened one two nights ago, and I concur! Good on the first night and even better the next.
2011 PGC Olenik (now Corrine) Vineyard Pinot Noir. This wine is just delicious. I really enjoyed a bottle 18 months ago, and so kept an eye out, hoping some additional bottles would show up at auction. Lucked out and was able to pick up a few more.![]()

Terry….I don’t think you have a drinking problem, but you most definitely have a Patty Green problem!!

I know. I think I even may have mentioned it, previously, as I’ve got more than a few of them sitting downstairs . . . . ![]()
That 2013 Estate Vineyard, Bonshaw Block should be drinking super well and combine loads of sweet fruit with the very sanguine nature of the vintage as these wines have aged.
Yeah, great call on the sweet fruit. All 3 wines were exceptional last weekend. Teenagers now, but they will all see legal drinking age with ease.
Last night….
Boneless pork shoulder blade roasts are slow-roasting, all the PGC Pinot Noir bottlings have been decanted and, after ten minutes or so, returned to their bottles, and friends should be arriving within the hour. The Royer 2000 Chardonnay seems nice (no off notes that I can discern) and tasty (will be interested in hearing what a couple of my white-wine-drinking friends think). For the PGCs, went with a broken up vertical of the Olenik (Corrine) Wadensvil, vintages 2011, 2019 and 2023, with an Olenik Anklebreaker Block 2011 (which I think is Pommard) to tag along
. . . .

The 2011 PGC Olenik Wadensvil is in the glass. All of the PGCs are delicious, and there is a nice contrast (especially on the nose) with the two 2011 Olenik Vineyard wines. Cheers!
