What natural wine did you open today?

Yes. As a rule of thumb I only drink the GC cuvees, Riesling Bildstoeckle and Reserve and then this particular cuvee. I’ve tried the sous voile wines from Patrick and they are indeed amazing. I regularly buy Patricks Muenchberg GC.

Clos Kixhaya Chinon Les Amphores 2020

Natural to the hilt, cloudy, sediment rich, with scratchy tannins and a trace of VA. For fans of the style only.

Drank some natural wines last night. I loved this 10.5% abv Gamay / Mondeuse blend.

Wish I could find more of the Gilles Berlioz wines.

Those were some of the first wines in my book. Got them through Alpert. Only whites at the time. Very nice and incredibly clean and stable for natural, especially at the time. Only slight disappointment was the Chignin-Bergeron didn’t age as well has hoped. Didn’t fade hard, just didn’t really evolve positively. Could be wrong but don’t think they are with Jeffrey any longer.

was the tino kuban worth it?

The whites are pretty stunning and singular. This bottling was only 200 or so bottles. Impossible to say whether a wine at this secondary price is worth it or not.

i guess they are still cheaper than the 2016’s from bernard van berg. just saw krone wine in denmark is selling them for $12,000+ per bottle :exploding_head:

While nice guys by nature, their way of pricing and allocating is not the most respected in the Danish scene :joy:

Pierre Mang Le Parc Rouge 2022.

Nice fun juicy red, a bit of aniseed/fennel, nothing too special here.

2022 Pierre Mang Voisins

Ripe fruit from Macon, some yeasty, lees funk. Grippy. Again fun, but….

that is how i feel about a lot of trendy new burg producers today. atleast the pierre mang wines are not too pricey unlike some of his contemporaries.

ufo alert, only 318 bottles produced. if any one can tell me what i am drinking i would appreciate it, google has no answer. absolutely thrilling stuff.

That must be the lightest skin contact I’ve ever seen :joy:

exactly! nose is crazy, very exotic with some funky mineral and almost petrol like base notes as well. lush tropical fruit on the palate, dense with lots of extract and piercing finale. super unique wine. feels almost alsatian but with finer balance and more acidity…only 12.5 abv.

A bit of a photo dump from last night

Even the importer had limited info!
Experimental cuvée only 1/2 pièce produced. Sold only to friends and colleagues. Classical skin-contact approach with a maceration of about 10 weeks. That’s all I got.

amazing, thank you for the intel! curious to see how the other half of the bottle is doing today.

All good?

Last night.

Claire Naudin - Orchis Mascula 2017
Strawberries and tart cherries. Definitely a stylistic choice of acidity here. Good sous bois for it’s age and otherwise just very nice and deep glass but it’s pushing a bit on the fruit. Don’t wait on these if you have any

Alexandre Bain - Mademoiselle M 2019
Lovely ‘big’ Sauvignon Blanc from Bain. Deep nectarine and bruised fruits and an underlaying oxidisation that he so often does. Always a fan of these to surprise a bit with a different style of Pouilly Fumee.
Not to wait too much very nice now.

I am so ecstatic I happened upon this post. I visited a neighborhood wine bar and had a lovely Pet Nat País from Itata Valley that has expanded my taste of wines. The wine bar changes its menu frequently so I am always trying something different.

Beautiful, pure fruit, very enjoyable! Super primary and obviously way too young…

Great bottle of Savigny Blanc from P-R.
Just a kiss of reduction, really well done.

A good bottle of Labet Savagnin, further evidence that I prefer their Chardonnay releases.
