What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

Picked up a case each of 2003 Sociando-Mallet, 2006 D’Issan, 2000 Vieux Telegraphe, and 2011 Pegau Reservee. This will be my first time trying Sociando-Mallet, and given my love for Loire reds, I’m quite excited to try it. I’ve never had Pegau either (again though given my love of Loire reds and lighter CndP, I’m pumped to try this as well). Haven’t been this excited for a wine purchase in a while.

There seems to be quite a bit of this available now based on the recent offers I have seen. Galloni said “I can’t recommend the 2014 highly enough. It’s a total knock-out.” Sounds like a buy to me.

Pretty much everyone not posting on WB, and many who do, are in love with the wine, and it seems as though those who don’t here just don’t like the Bolly style, which I do.

I resisted buying for a while because I have an adequate supply of GA from earlier vintages, but then I thought about what I’d do if some of the other tete cuvees I used to buy were available for $140 (they are now WAY more expensive) and decided to pull the trigger on a few.

At current Champagne pricing, if you don’t like the style, you need to start liking it. I typically prefer the rosé, but seems like they did a better job with with the non-rosé in '14 so I bought more of that.

Bought a case of Montelena 1991 at the Zachys auction. Finished my last bottle last year, the best one yet, and started looking for a well provenanced replacement.

Either date can count. Post when you are excited about a purchase. This is a thread for pleasure - the joy of buying great wines. There is another thread about the pain of buying too much wine. This isn’t it .

With respect to wines purchased by your wife, post either when you are excited about the purchase, if ever, or if you are crying and in need for solace.

just had the 91 Montelena and am now down to my last bottle of it. Fabulous wine

Four vintages (‘10, ‘17, ‘18, and ‘20) of Bruno Clavelier La Combe d’Orveau after fabulous showings of ‘93 and ‘09 recently. I am going gaga on this cuvée.

I don’t really drink them with age, to be honest, so can’t say for sure.

2019 Armand Heitz Poutures
2020 Armand Heitz Poutures

Just found (and purchased) one bottle of the 2017 Poutures that I loved so much. TN: 2017 Heitz-Lochardet Pommard 1er Clos Poutures - WINE TALK - WineBerserkers Have you tasted any of the 2019 or 2020 yet. I am interested particularly in whether this wine from these more powerful vintages retains the elegance that I love so much in the 2017.
