What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

Wine Bid delivery:

1991 Ridge Geyserville
2011 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon
2012 Auguste Clape Renaissance Cornas
2014 Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
2016 Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
2018 Tensley Colson Canyon Syrah

I purchased the 3 wines poured at the recent White House State Dinner for King Charles III and Queen Camilla:

  • Hopkins Riesling Western Connecticut Highlands ā€œHeritageā€ 2024
  • Penner-Ash Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2022
  • Newton Chardonnay Napa Valley ā€œUnfilteredā€ 2022

I’m going to try to reprise the dinner with friends (we’ll see how that goes!). So, I purchased 3 btls of each: 1 to evaluate and 2 for the dinner. The Penner-Ash and the Newton are now resting comfortably in my cellar; the Hopkins is on its way via UPS.

Very cool idea!

Still organizing. We’ll see how this turns out! The menu looks doable.

01 Yquem (hopefully finally done for awhile with this)

Channeling my inner-@Rich_Brown self, granted the better looking side…

1979 Robert Mondavi ā€œReserveā€ Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

59% ToKalon Cab fruit.

Had its ā€œpredecessorā€ - for lack of a better word - last year, twice.

Where did you find that old stuff?

6 x Guffens Macon-Pierreclos Juliette et les Vielles de Chavigne 2025
6 x Guffens Saint Veran Les Carettes 2025 (first time this is bottled separately)
3 x Guffens Saint Veran C.C.P. 2025

En primeur from a German site - prices a bit on the high side, but I love this stuff and don’t get enough otherwise.
