What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

I am EU based so that is probably why! Honestly not hard to find the cuvees here, although finding them at the correct price is more of a challenge!

I figured that was the case! I’ve been able to find many of the cuvĂ©es at decent prices, but the smaller parcels like Chanteniere and Murgers have been a bigger challenge. One day! :slightly_smiling_face:

@Robert.A.Jr

I just confessed in the inventor reduction thread and for the record this is one of the “planned” purchases.

1996 Poderi Colla Barbaresco
1998 Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco Rombone
1999 Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco Rombone
1999 Fiorenzo Nada Seifile
2015 Aldo Vajra Freisa Kye

I saw those! Great prices too!

Great purchase.

Ha! Me too. I even had it in the cart. It was a great price (relatively) but I need more Burgundy like I need a hole in the head.

Annual LdH purchases & allocations

2 x 2017 Gravonia Blanco
1 x 2014 Tondonia Reserva Blanco
1 x 2004 Tondonia Gran Reserva Blanco
1 x 2004 Tondonia Gran Reserva Tinto
4 x 2014 Bosconia Reserva Tinto
3 x 2013 Tondonia Reserva Tinto
1 x 2013 Tondonia Reserva Tinto (Magnum)

The quantities of the Blanco and GR that allocated to NZ are miniscule and I am grateful for what I am able to get.

Just a quick addendum on my recommendation of Flickinger (Chicago) for pre-arrival —

I bought a 6 pack of 2012 Ponsot CM 1’er ‘Charmes’ from them very early last year in pre-arrival, maybe February. It arrived in their warehouse in Aug, I had them ship to my storage facility in Oct. where it’s sat this entire time, I had my first bottle of it here in Louisiana a week ago and it tasted like a bag of assholes. Every imaginable bad muddled, cooked, crap taste. I emailed them about it a few days ago and here was the response:

Hi Mr. Nute-

Hope all is well. I’m sorry to hear of the off bottle of Ponsot that you recently opened. We at Flickinger Wines do whatever we can to ensure that the bottles that you order and receive are in excellent condition. We only deal with trusted suppliers who employ proper storage facilities and who deploy temperature-controlled shipping containers; and we have equipped our warehouse with the proper cellar/refrigeration equipment that out collectors and storage customers demand for their purchases and wine collections, respectively.

We are confident of the condition of the stock that we offer and will offer a refund for the remaining 5 bottles once we receive them and inspect them. Let us know how you’d like to proceed.

Wow —:clap::clap::clap::clap: Flickinger Wine. Get ready to see my credit card — a whole bunch — coming your way!
