Meh. Had a '71 Piper-Heidsieck with 50 years on the lees and it was way too aged and rather lacking.

Piper Heidsieck’s Hors Série and Charles Heidsieck’s Blanc de Millénaires Crayères are completely different animals. At least I’m counting on that.

Far and away my most expensive purchase. Hermitage La Chapelle 1961 with great provenance. I have tasted this once, and it was I think the greatest I have ever tasted, and always wanted to try another bottle
