What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

My compulsion (read: struggle) not to buy is still in constant tension with my annual purchase habits. Case in point. After trying the 2024 Tiberio Cerasuolo and Trebbiano at @Dale_Williams’s last weekend, each a wonderful mouthwatering rendition, PJ’s release offer at discount proved too much. 3 each to start. And I threw in 2022 Camus Bruchon SLB Lavieres, which I’ve been meaning to try, to get free delivery.

Tax and shipping notwithstanding, I doubt there’s a better wine on the planet for $21 than that trebbiano.

Ah, Tiberio.
When I was the first in the US to bring them in, I sold the Trebbiano for $13.
A few years later, national importer bully tactics.
Lovely people and wines.

I was supposed to be on a wine buying moratorium but could not pass up a couple of well priced Cedric Bouchard for $186 each (would have been $167.40 if I bought 6 via get 10% off 6 bottles promo, but they only had 2).

Had a Robingnotte 2022 (by accident, meant to pull the entry Bourgogne) and loved it. It only got better after a few hours of air. Grabbed these since they are stateside and there are not too many to begin with.

Still learning about Thiriet (and burgundy in general) but am excited to lay these down and see where they go in a few years.

A happy random wine store find that seemed rather mispriced in my favor. I’ve wanted some Burlotto for quite some time, but hadn’t swallowed the price up until now. Anyone have any perspective on this price? I thought it was quite a good price for new vintage, off-the-shelf retail.

I don’t think you’ll be able to find it much cheaper elsewhere, and supposedly a great vintage from the buzz.

Thanks @Mikael_OB. Your sentence almost entirely sums up my entire reasoning for purchase. It’s just comforting to hear it from somewhere outside my own head!

Also a 2021 Penfolds FWT, which was actually one of the wines I most wanted to try in Australia, mostly out of curiosity. Turns out Costco in Canberra had it on closeout!

I haven’t had the 2024 Trebbiano and am still drinking through my last couple 2022s and half-case of 2023.

That 2024 Cerasuolo is something else. I’ve already had 3b and may need another case.

I liked 22 better than 23 Treb but both great.

And I agree that the 24 Cerasuolo is even more special than normal. I read (after trying it) that she added Montelpuciano grapes in 24.

My bottles arrived yesterday and I’ll pop one of each soon.

Came across this wadana and simply couldn’t resist despite wine provisioning freeze during summer and having already cellared a few this vintage.
