I also looked at some John Gilman notes on the Shaman 2018 Rose, it does look like the “18” signifies the base vintage and this is a solera style as well. I think the back label is a mistake as the bottling date cannot be 2018 as the base grapes were still on the vine at that time.

I agree, it is super strange with that 2018 bottling date…
