Never tried the 3 twins offering, you dig it? I liked the round pond last year but theres not a lot out there in secondary.

Actually haven’t had it. Was getting the Dr Crane and saw the Three Twins was at an attractive price and I read good things about it and have liked Myriad in general, so got it too.

Nice! I never see any Rieslaner in the U.S. I’ve got some 2012 Rudolf Fürst Centgrafenberg Rieslaner Auslese 375s I’ve been slowly drinking. Something a little different when you want something between an off-dry and a dessert wine in perceptible sweetness.

The only rieslaner I’ve had or seen in the U.S. market had been from Muller Catoir, and the sweet versions of these from the HGS era are magical.

One of the restaurants near me had the 1998 Rieslaner TBA from the same vineyard by the glass and it was languishing on their list. They wouldn’t let me buy bottles to go lol

Keller also makes one that comes into the US

I managed to buy a bottle of 2001 M-C Gimmeldinger Schlössel Rieslaner Spätlese recently - it was advertised as Riesling, but I was pretty pleased that it is Rieslaner! Total unicorn these days.

The HGS Scheurebes are insane, too.

Yes, Bassins carries a couple of Keller Rieslaners.

You got those millot from uovo? Good deal on those! They’re made by Alix’s father, fwiw.

Yes! I agree, price was good.

2x 2022 Penfolds Bin 389 off of a clearance rack at a local grocery store: $22 each.

I’ve never had this (or Grange), and recent CT notes make it sound like this is dense, shut down, and showing its oak at the moment. Anyone have general suggestions on how long I should plan to forget about these so that they have time to mature and integrate the wood?

Honestly the answer is how old are you? These will age effortlessly for 30+ years.

I have both the 1990 and 1991 in the cellar (under crappy corks) and they are in excellent shape

I opened a 2004 last year and it was still very dense.

Late 40’s, so 30 years isn’t out of the question, God willing. Sounds like these are bound for the back of the storage locker…
