I’ve been on a Leoville-Poyferre kick lately. Had an 09 that left me scratching my head recently by how brilliant it was. Just picked up the ‘16, ‘19 and ‘20 to lay down for the long term.

That’s what I understand and it does have body but also great mineral oyster shell, citrus clean yellow fruit. The ripping acidity is what got me. Not the greatest vintage but I will take them!

Actually, some of those are! The French certainly got their supermarkets right. Once we got going, the shopping frenzy continued in a nearby Caveau.

Except there is no Pierre Chanau, that‘s a fantasy name for anonymous bottlings for Auchan.
(Not as evil as it sounds, true to the varietal, drinkable.)

I’ve had their 2020 Barbera and enjoyed it. I have a ‘19 Barolo that I picked up at K&L, but haven’t tried.
Please let me know if you pop this.
I have several of their Langhe Nebbiolos around the cellar.
Going to the offsite in Denmark (I live in Vienna currently), so unfortunately not popping any time soon

Haven’t tried it yet but have opened several lieu de vie. This is a solid grower with amazing terroir, i highly recommend!
