What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

@David_Bu3ker

From what I know the 2018 is the only vintage, so there’s not much to know about it.

Yay got my Rayas allocation.

Four Rayas, seven Fonsalette and five Des Tours. Mostly ones and twos with vintages ranging between 2010 and 2020. For Rayas and Fonsalette this is the 2013 vintage release here in NZ but tiny quantities which have been augmented with some 2010, 2011 and 2012. No Pignan.

Total ignore!

Wow.

The surprising thing is that you managed to get it back to NZ and not drink it. Even if it meant going early to the airport with a decent glass, and popping it open while you watched the planes take off and land.

BTW I decided after a good deal of thought not to ignore you. There are so few of us with decent palates

For those interested, I emailed the winery and received the following response:

“Fermentation in classic oak barrels with subsequent maturation for 36 months in stainless steel tanks. A feinherber Riesling Reserve from the Hermannshöhle, fermented in wooden barrels and on sale for the first time after 66 months.”

Case of 2020 Kirkland Barolo. At $19.99 does a good job of scratching the Barolo itch.

Did a quick CA Central Coast trip to check in on the 23’s and stock up on Summer wines
all are 2023’s except where noted. Got to try all before purchasing

Little Soul Rose of Pinot
Little Soul Old School Carbonic Pinot
Giornata Il Campo Bianco
Lady of the Sunshine Rose
Lady of the Sunshine Chevey Presquile Vineyard
2022 Lady of the Sunshine Chardonnay ChĂȘne Vineyards
Outward Wines Grenache Two Wolves
Outward Wines Gamay Presquile Vineyard
2022 Outward Wines Chenin Blanc Shell Creek Vineyard
Storm Wines Sauvignon Blanc Presqu’ile Vineyard
Storm Wines (California) Grenache Rosé
Linne Calodo The Contrarian

2023 is going to be a great vintage according to the wine makers I spoke with, and tasting these freshly bottled whites. pinks and light reds have confirmed that impression

I think they have hydrocortisone for that?

Let me offer you a very simple alternative to ignore; visit NZ and who knows a Rayas might just get opened. :wine_glass: :grinning:

The last bottle of 1967 Sobrero.

Filipipo Sobrero wines are pretty special, but the vineyard was sold in the eighties to Mauro Mascarello of Monprivato fame. This particular vineyard are the basis for his super Monprivato cuvĂ©e Ca d’Morrissio.
