Asked for a six-pack of 2018 Vallana Spanna “Cuvée Bernardo Vallana” from Rare Wine Company. Not familiar with this particular cuvée, but I have liked several other Vallana wines that I have picked up thanks to the high praise on this board. The sales pitch in the RWC mailer was hard to resist.

After reading the spectacular reviews of the Croix Boisée 2018 from Chris Kissack (aka Wine Doctor), and our very own Julian Marshall, I just had to get hold of some. So reached out to the Domaine and presto, a cheeky half case is in the bag!
I love me some Baudry, and also love that there are still regions like the Loire existing, which can produce top level wine and yet remain totally accessible in price and availability. Probably due to all that ‘bell pepper and barnyard’, so I should just be happy that my tastes align with that profile!
@Julian Marshall: in case you read this, thanks for your CT note on the 2018 CB. Any indications on when you would begin drinking these? Merci!
