Not drinking any 70, 66, and 64 BDX anymore unless in large formats and of good provenance. 61 is different. But i have had too many bad experiences with 1st Growths recently from 70, 66, and 64.
I’ll put in a word for 1967 as still having some quite good wines. Latour has been very good and Lagrange (Pomerol) has been great.
The 64s I have had have been hit and miss (a number of near dead du Tertre) though I am hopeful about a Carruades.
And 66 Lynch Bages (with cork having fallen into the bottle) was fantastic!
Gerhard’s post is spot on.
From relatively recent experience, I can recommend:
'70 - Latour, Palmer, Trotanoy, Ducru, Pétrus, Montrose
'66 - Palmer, Ducru, Latour
'64 - Haut Brion, Cheval Blanc
Obviously bottles vary greatly, but those listed above are usually good to outstanding even now.
