His were not as dark and big, but not my favorite of his wines. BTW, his Chardonnay wines from Sleepy Hoolow were also awesome.

100% agree on the Sleepy Hollow Chard. — the '06 may be my all-time favorite. Which of the Arcadian Pinots did you most prefer?
I had a 2012 Arcadian Clos Pepe last night. Very transparent, lighter red, very crisp and high acid, no noticeable oak. Tasted like something just recently released.
I liked it a lot. It has a long life ahead, but I’m not sure what kind of development it will have with age. I think it was a little simpler and lighter than the golden era of Arcadian pinots, but I’m happy I have more bottles.
I always liked Joe’s Pisoni PNs the most. I’m not sure if you can still find them, but the 97 was the best Pinot I’ve ever had, and the 2002 and 2000 were close behind.
I think I am down to one bottle of Arcadian - a 2006 Pisoni.
If you had that '97 any time recently, good job holding it, or nice luck finding it! I’ve had it only once — in 2015 — thought it excellent. The '02 is what got me into Arcadian – somebody brought it to a blind tasting I put together, and it was my WOTN; I guessed Burgundy on it. The 2000 probably remains my favorite vintage for that bottling, however. The '99 was no slouch, either …
I am a +1 on this. With 01 Garys and '01 Sleepy Hollow right up there in the running.
Brian, I wish I held onto it! I had this is 2009. I had purchased this directly from Arcadian in one of their library sales. I paid $130 for it, which was the most I had spent on a bottle at that time. It was well worth it.
I subsequently bought another bottle from an online retailer, but the bottle condition was not similar at all. It was significantly cheaper.
Dennis - no argument with any of your alternative choices.
Recently drank the 2009 Hommage a Max, from magnum. It was absolutely spectacular. Perfectly balanced, great energy, bright acidity. Moroccan spices, lavender, blackberry and tobacco. A beautiful wine.
2008 Sleepy Hollow Pinot Noir for valentines dinner last with Boeuf Bourguignon. This wine was firing on all cylinders. Loads of spice, strawberry and raspberry perfume, with some pretty florals in there too. Just barely starting to get tertiary notes, but this wine doesn’t feel 15 years old at all. That being said, I do think this is good as it is going to get, so drink up.
Based on my previous bottle, and other reviews I have seen I think this one has a lot of bottle variation. Seems like half of the reviews are saying it is dead, but this one definitely wasn’t.
96pts.
