2015 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Bishop Creek Vineyard in a good spot. Nose is spectacular. Room to pick up complexity in the mid palate. Textually is great.
I need to find a better grocer!
I found this at New Seasons off N Williams in PDX, and have been pleasantly surprised by their selection and occasional sales (on local wines, mostly).
We had a bottle of that 23 Tsai Pinot Blanc on Saturday. So good and goes down all too easily at 11%!
I have a couple of these in storage but saw at retail and pulled the trigger. This is a wow wine. It shows beautifully after 2h of air. This was basically stealing at release price.
- 2021 Goodfellow Family Cellars Chardonnay Psycho Killer Temperance Hill - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (4/6/2025)
Incredible and what a world-beating value.
Beautiful nose with some flinty reduction, stony terroir, lemony oil. After being open for about 2h, the palate explodes with power and weight. Lemon curd, white floral, sweet minerals. Finish is very long.
95+ and will age beautifully for 15+ years. (95 points)

This might just be my favorite ever Goodfellow.
It’s definitely my favorite Goodfellow chard ever (though a 2015 Richard’s consumed in 2020 may come close).
Psycho Killer? Qu’est-ce que c’est?
Special bottling from Temperance Hill in 2021 - flat out the best Chard I tasted on our OR trip sampling the 2021 vintage. Went deep and they are buried - so much weightless energy. Just keeps coming back in waves - fortunate to have some big bottles of this as well!
Fa fa fa fa, fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run, run run run away, oh, oh, oh
I have four of those somewhere, haven’t opened one yet.

For @Marcus_Goodfellow and @Megan_Joy
I blinded my Chas group (with several pro palates in the room) last week on the Durant Sparkler and the 07 Matello PN. These folks know my palate, so there was obvious bias.
Hilarity ensued.
One to add to my wish list.
No rush. I should have a case plus somewhere, but I suppose it’s time for another look see or data point…
Premature but I opened a 2023 Berserker Pinot tonight. It’s so classic Goodfellow. Transparent ruby red, red fruit and floral nose, and great structure. Will revisit in 6 months or so.
I’m sitting on WR and Beloved Acre but they just got here last week. Gonna give them a little bottle rest.
I’ve been dying to open a Goodfellow for weeks. The stars never aligned. Tonight I just said screw it and opened one.
I suspect I’ll take a peek at the 2023 Pinots sometime this summer. Perhaps I’ll even wait until this fall. Hard to resist, though.
