What Goodfellow/Matello are you drinking?

I have not tried either of those two, but if you were going to be opening one, I’d definitely go with the Fir Crest as the Heritage Blends I’ve had all need more age. Enjoy!

2010 Whistling Ridge Field Blend out of the Mystery box.

Healthy, lighter gold color. Still very youthful on the palate. More RS than I would have expected. Almost comes across as a demi-sec. Timeless.
Drink now to 2040? 2060?

Edit: Ha ha! Maybe slight hyperbole, but if John Gilman can do it why can’t I!

Hi Terry,

If you can hold the 2019s a bit, I would recommend it. I agree with John on the Durant being the Goodfellow bottle to open early, and at 6 years it’s unfolding a bit. The other seem more closed down to me, and worth waiting a bit longer on.

In other words, don’t do a Terry Harris. :joy:

Can I PnP any of these from what I believe was the first sparkling offering? (This is what happens when you don’t plan ahead!)

I would say it’s fine to PnP with the Willamette. I haven’t yet opened the other two.

I would not pnp the Durant. That is the only one of the 3 that I’ve tried though.

Opened a 2014 Durant Chardonnay earlier this week. Seriously reduced. As in burnt rubber reduced. That said, still tasted good and finished the bottle over 2 days. Probably should have opened it and left it along for 2 days before drinking. And since I believe I have another that’s what I’ll do next time.

That was very well written. It would be great to have this on the website.
