The building is pretty sturdy and out of the flood area.
I know wine is on the very bottom of the list of concerns in times like these and I hate it for those that will be impacted. Just got to thinking about all that wine while watching the hurricane coverage on weather channel.

Berns is less than a 10 minute walk from the bay. I would think it would be considered in a flood zone. The good stuff was kept below street level in a warehouse across the street. Good thing we drank most of the good stuff.
Yes, I’ve been in the warehouse. It’s quite sturdy. Also, according to a risk zone map, they are quite high above sea level. At 5 meters it’s still not close to Bern’s in that area of the bay (blue color). It seems to go straight uphill from the bay.

Lot’s of generators. They store at less than 50 degrees. Plus the thermal mass of over 500,000 bottles of wine at that temperature means they would stay cool for days, even without power

Probably because it usually doesn’t. Or it tries really hard not to.

Bern’s is 5 meters above sea level?!? I would not have guessed that in a million years.
Between 5 and 10. They don’t get more granular than that.
What does a place like Bern’s in Tampa do with their wine in times like this?
