I read threads here, and it seems that red wine consumption FAR outpaces that of white. Perhaps it is not true, and obviously if it is, it could be just a ‘wine geek’ thing, but I do notice that the vast majority of TN’s are red, the Offlines are mostly red wines, etc.
What do you drink most of (roughly)?
Probably 25:1 Red vs. White.
We are trying to branch out and explore more ABC whites that we see at Costco.
For us, it’s somewhat seasonal. During winter/fall it’s probably 85% red 15% white. During spring/sumer it’s probably 60% red/40% white. These are all, obviously estimations, but probably hold true. Right now, our cellar is over 90% red. I also think it has to do with aging wines. For the most part, people age red wines much more than they do white and therefore their cellars are usually red-heavy. Hence the drinking of more red. Of course this isn’t the case for everyone, your mileage may vary…
are you flippin’ kidding me?!? you live in SoCal, dude … it never gets below 50 degrees – you are a psychosomatic wonderhorse. ![tease [tease.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/c/c5b32b76bebaa359b0452ae247b61189ffe5fa7e.gif)
is 50%Red/50%White the option we should choose for Rose?
I take offense to that… but only after I googled psychosematic to find out what it meant.
I voted 50-50 but I considered non-rose champagne as white. Excluding that it’s over 90+ red.
At home, about 50-50 red to white. Out with groups, probably 75-25. I picked the 75% red option because I tend to drink a lot more at off-lines than at home, but the truth probably lies somewhere in between 50% and 75%.
If I had more white wine, I’d drink it to the point of being 50/50. The mailers/producers/living in Napa pretty much means that most wine coming in the house is red, but we try to drink much closer to even. Champagne, white burg, etc – gone as soon as they get in the house.
French, what is your percentage of regular Pepsi to Crystal Pepsi?
interesting poll! I’m saying 50/50 and leaning more towards white. I do a lot of Champagne/ sparkling wines and rhone whites and other off-beat whites. Not sure where Rosés would fit in since I do a bit of those too, would probably put that in the same group as whites (in terms of body). But also do many different Italian reds and tempranillos too.
What?!?! Champagne is made from red grapes?
Approximately the same ratio of highlights to natural hair color on your head.
In my cellar it is over 400 reds per 1 white.
My cellar is just over 80% red, so that is about the ratio of what we drink, but a lot depends on the season and whether I am cooking with wine.
Well, most that I drink are a blend of red and white grapes but since the end result isn’t red I put the majority of the champagne I drink into the white category.
I’m probably something like 57% red, 40% champagne, 3% white.
I’m surprised NOBODY yet has white as the majority - I figured there would be a few stragglers, but it is interesting to see.
I would imagine, however, that white wine sales nationwide and worldwide are pretty even with red, no? Imagine all those bottles of Chardonnay!!
I voted for 75% white, but it’s really probably more like 60/40, (actually more like 40% white, 25% red, and 35% beer).
I might even be at a higher rate than ol’ Tex. I’m probably like 40:1. I have maybe 250 bottles total and I’m guessing 8 are white.
