Lot 321 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Nearly 4 years bottled, I fear that this was bottle 6/6? PnP.
Friggin’ Fantastic!!! Rich, full, very complex and not hot @ 15%.
Delicious oak and just outright super yummy! 
I’m hoping that I have another, somewhere?

Saturday evening this RRV PN tasted pretty good with Salmon. This wine has grown a bit on me, earlier bottles seemed a bit flabby almost hot. Bottle time helped, so did a cooling jacket to keep wine cool. not cold.
- 2020 de Négoce Pinot Noir OG N.234 - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (7/25/2026)
Popped and poured with Wild Sockeye Salmon over a bed of French green lentils. Earthiness from lentils pairs well with Pinot here.
Nose: Ripe cherries and strawberries mixing in a touch of potting soil and leather. Ripe styled RRV Pinot.
Color: Deep see through Garnet in Sommelier Burgundy stem.
Palate: Picking up raspberries, cherry, minerality, touch of vanilla on a medium length finish. Pleasant, and plump at same time. I put a chiller on bottle to keep liquid cold as house gets a touch warm mid July. This kept the 14.5% alcohol toned down. The heat of 2020 vintage could have made this Pinot a bit flabby, the winemaker seemed to get the balance correct. (91 points)

Lot 553 cab… possibly 2022 Oakville Vine Hill Ranch. 1 hr decant and it’s rock n roll time. Pretty nose, Black fruit forward decent length and delicious. With eggplant parm.

Lot 548 | 2024 Russian River Valley Chardonnay
17 months bottled, far into the case, PnP.
The nose is still fresh with very nice apple, pear, lemon & pineapple notes. No oak, just nice fruits. Plenty of acidity, for any seafood. This has continued to improve since earlier bottles!
Refreshing on hot summer evenings. It’s yummy
with sadly inferior Salmon filets from TJ’s 
Thursday evening this smooth Paso Syrah. What an incredible value wine.

Popped and poured for homemade pizza dinner.
Notes consistent with tasting back in Feb this year:
Nose: Powdery florals, boysenberry, yummy bacon fat. Excellent so far.
Color: Deep purple and completely opaque. Almost color of a PETS.
Palate: Follow on of the nose with more bacon fat, earth and beautiful "polish". Intriguing, smooth LONG finish with tannic grip hidden by luscious fruit that hits you again. This is ready to drink now, can hold for 2-3 more years if you can wait. (92 points)

136 has to be one of the best cam values ever. The bottle cost was way under $10 a bottle with the buy one get one crazy sale. I went through 2 cases way too fast

Friday evening Cabernet #1 of the evening.
- 2018 de Négoce Cabernet Sauvignon OG N.25 - USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District (7/31/2026)
Double decanted back into bottle half hour before serving with grilled Italian Sausage and Petite Filet Mignon steak. Rack of baby backs too as daughter and son in law in town for weekend. He wanted ribs.
Nose: Graphite, violets and fancy French Oak. Picked up a little savoriness in later glasses.
Color: Dark purple still.
Palate: Cassis - something I really enjoy in Napa Cabernets. More spice and leather on a long, smooth tannic finish. Paired quite well with Filet Mignon Steak and fresh garden chive butter on baked potato. Should age well for years longer. (92 points)

Well this is interesting, as previous tastings of the Cabernet showed less spectacular than a Jan 2025 tasting.
Opened this wine previous night snuck a glass off and vacuvin the bottle back into cellar. Wow. Red fruit galore in this Cabernet was first impression. See how it does overnight.
Pours dark red in glass, nearly opaque. Swirling wine, notes of red fruits and spice present. Next came a wonderful mouthful of farm ripe black cherries. A HALLMARK, in my mind, of high quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The best Cabernets I've enjoyed over the years costing upwards of $300 have this "farm ripe" black cherry. This wine provides this in spades here. Firm acidity, gripping tannins into a lengthy finish just completes this Cabernet experience.
Wife, daughter and myself just gushed over this Cabernet, was clearly better than OG N.25 Cabernet poured just hour earlier.
Drink now or hold for another 4-5 years. (94 points)

OG N.25 2018 Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
6+ years bottled, 30/34. Upon afternoon opening, still somewhat reduced. So, one full hour into the decanter, then back to the bottle.
Leather, black fruit & beautiful CS character evident. This double yum keeps getting better over time and with additional aeration. Draining out the end of the bottle was the best glass.
I believe this can age and improve for another 3-4 years easily? For better or worse, my ambient temperature storage accelerates aging! This is dark, leathery and delicious.

Popped one last night, 69, a bit left for today. Skewered up some Morgan Ranch tenderloin tips, grilled banana peppers/onion/mushroom, Carolina gold…both bride and I thought drinking really well and in a good spot, matter of fact she balked at leaving a glass for today ha!..and she tends to lean/enjoy a little more modern than I do but we’re pretty ambidextrous here on wine styles

Lot 241 Coombsville Cabernet 2019 - The last time I tried this was side by side with the Meteor Perseid and I was convinced they were different barrels of the same wine (although given recent conversations on the sister thread, I might say the tiny variations were due to different filtering/botting). While this showing was still positive, I would not have mistaken it for a legit $150 wine. A solid 90-91 that paired well with steak au poivre, but nothing to write home about.

dN n.162 Walla Walla Cab 2018. 2/6. This has blossomed into a heck of a good wine since the first bottle, which was probably about a year to year-and-a-half ago. One hour+ decant.

OG L 329 Sonoma Coast 2019 Pinot Noir
Nearly 3.5 years in the bottle, PnP.
This may be too much (15.2%) of a good thing for some refined folks. I consider this the #57 of PN’s! About as strong, rich & oaky as one would ever want. BUT, when you want it big, this might do it.
Deeply complex with the fullest array of dark leathers on the nose!! Plenty of delicious strong fancy oak and fully ripe grapes, with no raisins. However, Age has added a slight prune character.
This has fully matured for me, drinking up the final ~2 bottles soon. Now at 7 years after vintage, the fruit has fully developed its bouquet. Bottoms Up!

That’s worrying to hear. I’ve been a fan of 329 since release and thought it would improve for at least five years. I’ve been holding off. Not a prune fan so hope you had some bottle variation. I’ll be moving mine up in the queue. Thanks Scott.

Yes, 100% ditto!
I’m a lesser fan now than originally. From a solid 3, down to 2 yums for me. Not a fan of prunes in my PN. Good healthy snack, however.
Since previous bottles, it seems to have lost much of the previously delightful Pinotberry aroma. 7 years past vintage.
Bear this in mind. My ambient temperature storage accelerates/shortens the process of maturation.

Scott, I remember your picture of your ambient storage from a a discussion of storage around how people were choosing to house all their Dn purchases. Curious as to what temperature you storage area reaches in your hottest weather. I am doing similar but not as easily accessed as yours and in middle Tennessee. Ambient temperature ranges from 50F in coldest winter to 74-75F in sustained summer heat.
