That would be fun.
Lots of good wine too!
Cheers!

Despite a number of bad reviews of Lot 340 -2017 Clare Valley Cabernet, I opened a bottle and was pleasantly surprised except for water coating tannins that take 30 seconds to resolve. Bright Brambly fruit. Not over-ripe. Clear acid line on top of the initial fruit and then mouth puckering tannin. Perfect counterpart to a preblizzard mac and cheese.
I love it Randy! ![]()
We also use our Weber (natural gas) grill all 4 seasons. The most commonly and often used of all the cooking methods here.
Those giant Ribeyes look triple extra Yummy!!! ![]()

Yes, I wired the deck for natural gas. My Weber is old, but I changed the burners and flavorizers a couple
of years ago and I think it will last forever. The ribeyes were great. Day-old at our local market
which has several butchers working at all times. I brought them a case of vino for Christmas.
Gotta let them know they are appreciated.
Ditto here! Exactly! Changed the flavor bars twice and the grates & burners once. I’m afraid a new Weber Genesis would be sadly
Unfortunately like so many other things…..I
Another owner of an older Weber gas grill here. I can’t help to think that there is a very high correlation between those inclined to rebuild the insides of their Weber grill and those looking for the kind of value found with de Negoce/Cam X wines.
I love
my elderly gas grill! I fear the newer ones have been disimproved! Just like my Weber portable propane grill which was definitely new and definitely disimproved, sadly…..
Almost 2 years bottled, PnP. This is coming around to be a very pleasant Mountain CS.
Very Nice, additional aging recommended! with Cheese Burgers
#401 yesterday. Its emerging from the ass backwards phase and developing nice complexity. Another year and it will probably reach a nice peak!
Eleveur Chardonnay Ellen Lane. Still not my favorite. Its relatively complex but lacks verve.
I have the exact same grill! Mine is probably at least 15 years old at this point, I just replace the flavorizer bars and the grill grates periodically and give it a good cleaning every Spring and it keeps on ticking!…..
Besides, after time you become very dialed in to the known device, it’s so nice to have it work out, as you know it will. When I travel and use various grills at condos, etc, that I’m unfamiliar with, it kinda sucks and burns and it’s raw and too well done, various headaches. Stay with your good grill and your great Spouse. ![]()

OG dN Lot 179 2019 Napa Valley Petite Sirah
Nearly 5 years bottled, 2/2, PnP.
I’m not a big fan of PS, too many have seemed overblown, overbearing and volatile. This one is big and somewhat reminiscent of #’s 41&57, as Cam suggested. This however is tamer and was easy to guzzle it all down. I agree with Cam’s offering: “Big-and-brawny yet never overbearing, this is precision winemaking at its best. Booyah. 100% Petite Sirah 60% new French oak 15.1% alc.”!
I like this delicious wine, the standard PS peppery quality was mostly integrated into delightful deliciousness! One or Two XX’s,

Hello, I’m looking for any feedback on lots as far as recommendations around when to drink. I’ve tried to review tasting notes and record expectations but if you’ve got any comments, it would be appreciated. A few of the later lots are stored under my house and access is not easy so trying to have a plan of when to move them into my coolers as room becomes available. If there is nothing noted beside the lot, I could not find any comments when I looked. Thanks

I have the Lot 544 Chalk Hill 2023 Malbec (bottled 4/2025) packed away for a 2027 start and Lot 553 Napa Valley 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon (bottled 6/2025) slated to try in 2029.
Lot 110 2018 Fair Play, El Dorado County Petite Sirah.
Very good. Doesn’t take long in the glass to open up.
Edit: Also popped a 2019 Long Point (Finger Lakes) Sangiovese which was Excellent.
My Weber is an old style Spirit. It’s got the doors below and a burner on the left.
It has the “Sear Station”; another burner between #1 and #2.
And, it was a special edition with heavy duty stainless steel grates, which I’ll never have to replace!
I’ve set it on fire twice with no noticeable impact.
Remember: Build a man a fire, and he’s warm for the night. Set a man on fire and he’s warm for the rest of his life.
Your notes line up very well with mine except for lot 341 and the RC wines. I’m drinking 341 now but not really enjoying it much figuring that’s just the way it is. I may hold off on the rest for a year. Your '27 prediction agrees with my 9 year to peak aging rule for cabs. To me, lots 468 / 478 are still too closed, so I’ve put mine away until at least next year.
Thanks for your feedback. I do like the Robert Craig wines, that’s why 478 is almost gone. Also, at 70, I’m probably not waiting 9 years on some of the CamX ![]()
I’m 68 so I hear your view on long aging. I bought a bottle of Frog’s Leap that a reviewer claimed would be good until 2050. I still plan to open it 10 - 15 years after the vintage year. Waiting 9 years is not that difficult for me as I have a large cellar that I’ve been building for many years. It’s actually a shorter wait since the wines are already 2 - 3 years old when released.
I’m now drinking the 2014 to 2017 wines while waiting for the young ones to mature. My expectation for the dN and Cam X futures has always been that we should age them as part of the deal we make buying futures. It does seem that many of these wines can be drank short term but others will take years to come around.
