What Cigar or Pipe Are You Smoking?

Set up an account. I usually watch an auction, in a separate window, just to see highs and lows, figure out what you want to bid (how low), then also try using 2 lots option since they only charge ~$8 per package to ship.

There a re also different sizes of Black, I also like Toro size, or Robusto.

Also all of CAO blends, pick and choose. Try Brazil (wrapper) Gol size.

Sorry, I meant to mention that I have only had this in the humi for 2 months.

Yeah I have a good stash of GO!s I got from Cigar bid and the Blacks as well. That’s how I got the Blacks for $1.94.

Now I have no more room since I just bought a bunch of Warpeds and other things. Hard to find (impossible) to find deals on the Warped cigars. @ 400 sticks, I am maxed out with different stuff. Will be grabbing some more Olivas, skipping the Melano’s and master blends. The Saisons and Os can be found cheap at Cigar Bid and sometimes Cigars Int’l. They currently have a deal on the O at about 50% off and free shipping. But I am skipping for now. I have a bunch of stuff that needs time, including my GO!s.

I have zero Ashton’s in my humidor. In the past, I have enjoyed them but was never drawn to them. Thanks for the note.

Oliva Saison First Harvest 2009 Torpedo
Bought in January 2020. A great cigar. Complex with a broad range of flavors and spice. On the final third of the smoke, the flavors intensified but it also became a little bit hot. = A-

CAO L’annerversaire Camaroon Robusto

The cigar has been in the humidor for two plus years. Barnyard aromas on the foot and cherry on cold draw. The cigar gains flavor and body as it burns. Woody at first with some sweetness from the Cameroon wrapper. Cedar, coffee and berries join in the smooth, almost buttery display of flavors. Towards the end some powdery cocoa and light caramel come through. Excellent medium stick.

Used to be my staple, for a number of years, until CAO changed factories, and leaf suppliers, with flavor profile changing. Thanks for the note, need to re-visit these.

Flor de Las Antillas Maduro by My Father Cigars

Nice dark oily wrapper. Cocoa on the foot, berries on the cold draw. Roasting coffee beans, earth, some cocoa powder and light berry notes, finishing with pepper. Ash is loose and drops easily. The earthiness slowly builds and dominates the flavor profile as the pepper fades. Coffee bean, cocoa and some sweet cedar notes balance the profile to the end of the cigar.

It has been a long time since I have smoked one of those. I think I burned out on them but I wish I had kept a few to sleep for a while.

This morning, dodging the rain, I smoked a Graycliff G2 PG Robusto which with time acclimating to one of my humidors is a very nice mild smoke.

A. Fuente 858 Rosado Sun Grown

18 months in the humidor. Hay aroma on the foot, cedar on the cold draw. Not much going on for the first third. Some hay or straw, some earth and light spices. Solid ash. The cigar comes to life near halfway. Sweet cedar, cinnamon and some coffee notes come into play and the only pepper I detect is on the retrohale. Notes of caramel and dark berries round out the profile to the end of the cigar. Patience was rewarding.

Yum!! Thanks for the note.

Eric Espinosa Comfortably Numb Vol. 1 bought in Jan 2020.
I had this a few months ago but this stick showed much better. Still terrible construction and some burn problems but the flavors were great. Starts with wood and coffee and a lingering sweetness on the sides of my tongue. Long finish. Crackerjacks! Later distinct black pepper kicks in. The second third dropped off as the burn became more difficult. At this point, I prefer the bolder Vol. 2. = B

I was going to try a new cigar left by a rep last week. I clipped the cap and the wrapper unwound itself to the band. Tried to glue it back together with no success so I got another cigar.

Partagas 1845 Extra Oscuro Robusto Gorda

I could smell barnyard as soon as I removed the cellophane. Black fruit on the cold draw. Starts with a lot of pepper that softens after a half inch. Dark roast coffee becomes the primary flavor with some berry like sweetness to counter the waning pepper. Firm ash holds on. A hint of citrus occasionally and some kitchen spices start to build after the first third. Had to touch up cigar twice and the ash started flaking some. The flavor profile remained the same for the remainder of the cigar. A coffee lover’s cigar.

Fuente Queen Bee Sun Grown

Tbe cigar has been in the humidor for six months. Earthy aromas on the foot. Mild spice on the cold draw. Cuban cut on this great looking torpedo. Earthy and smooth with hints of cedar, coffee, kitchen spices and sweetness from wrapper. The flavors intensify and linger longer going into the final third. Hints of cocoa are added and the spices include cinnamon and nutmeg. Excellent cigar.

Thanks, Randy. Fuente is so good and the prices aren’t crazy.

Today is too rainy for me to get my smoke on and all the lounges are closed but yesterday I had an AB Vandal which is a very nice stick and a CAO Black Robusto that I normally love but yesterdays cigar was awful. So bitter and no pleasant flavors. First time I have had a bad one.

No smoking today but I did get a mail call. Southern Draw Desert Rose, Southern Draw Cedrus and a free 10 pack of Nubs. I don’t smoke Nubs. Any thoughts. Made by Oliva? I had one years ago and I was not moved, so I never went back.

And a 20 box of Marrero Flor De Nino with a few freebies they thrown in.

Haven’t had a Nub since their release years ago, smoked through all 3 original lines, liked Habano was not too impressed with the other 2. Good cigars, just nothing impressive to buy by the box, and I really do not like large gauge cigars to begin with. If you’re into “Oliva” may as well go with Cain line, not Nubs.

Thanks for the info. I never buy them, I just got them for free. I am not a big fan of 60 gauge and generally don’t like 4" cigars other than Fuente’s Short Story which is a perfecto and only a 48 gauge.
