What CAM X wine are you drinking tonight?

I see it being peak in like 3 but only for a bit of oak integration.

I’m drinking lot 22 tonight. Haters gonna hate. This is a stellar wine and terrific Malbec. Seems to have gotten average reviews. If I had a personal preference, it would be that it’s just too polished and I wish it had a little green element to it.

So, it’s (X22) ready to go now?

Agreed. Lot 22 has been a real crowd pleaser. Was a great deal in a bundle with Lot 2. Wish I had gotten more and maybe skipped one of the many Cabs I got.

Surprised to hear Lot 32 is ready. 80% new oak. Based on other Stags Leap I had, I was also thinking 2029.

I’ve had 4 bottles so far. This 4th one is the most settled for sure and now appears totally ready for action.

X22, You inspired me:

You are right! It’s very nice. :wine_glass:
More cellar time wouldn’t hurt, to integrate the Nice fruit!

When do you plan on opening X25?

X 22 Malbec seems to be one of the earliest vintages for Cam at 2022. It should be ready earlier than most.

Not quite yet….definitely in the fullness of time. :man_shrugging:
Do you feel it’s ready to try soon? 3 optimistic cases resting here.

I would say X25 is my favorite, very enjoyable.
Look forward to your review :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thinking of opening x24 today, last had in December I believe.

update: Also, in honor of our 3rd great grandchild, Opal Joan Linn, born late last night.

LOT 10 NAPA VALLEY CAB
Last opened in November. Still too young but wanted to check in on the development. Isn’t that the point of buying a 6-pack? :man_shrugging:t4:
Poured a small glass after an hour in the decanter. All dark fruit, black cherry and blackberry, oak is prevalent (90% New FO), vanilla and nutmeg, herbal, dark chocolate. Mouth watering acidity and looong finish. This is going to be lovely with some more time but I’m enjoying it now :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Cheers everyone!

2022 Cam X Malbec Lot 22 Rutherford
Day 2, follow up:
Just 1+inch left in the bottle at room temperature overnight, but…
Noticeable improvement!
The current abundant fruit Aromas should coalesce into a more complex & yummy Bouquet as this ages.
1-2 more years? I enjoyed every single drop, no hurry on this one….:wine_glass:

Day 2 & 3 brought out the characteristics that I’ve gotten before from the “vineyard that must not be named”. Tobacco, tar and black rocks. Acidity/tannins holding up well on day 3 so I can see this lasting many years. What a $20 wine!!! 91 on day 1 improving to 93 pts. on day 3.

So frustrating. This was the one case that got “lost” in the warehouse and I didn’t get shipped after summer hold last year. (They refunded my money of course, but still…I wanted to try that #22!)
(I love first world problems…)

Has anyone opened a bottle of Lot 64 yet?

@Cameron_Hughes it would be helpful if you listed the ABV% in your description…..I didn’t see it in your write-up on Lot 64
