What bottle of wine did you open today? (Part 1)

We had an interesting 1999 Antica Terrra Willamette Valley Pinot Noir with soup on a rainy evening.

Went to Le Pigeon with my fiancee, brought a bottle and bought a bottle:
Brought: 1990 Domaine Loïs Dufouleur Beaune 1er Cru Les Champs Pimont
Bought: 2009 Alain Graillot Crozes Hermitage

Both were amazing.

2003 Cayuse Syrah En Cerise. Tremendous.

How was the Mercury Head?

haven’t had one of those in years…

Both are fabulous but the 04 Corra has always been a favorite. Definitely time to drink the 04’s.

This was an open house at my office so not all of the participants were geeks. The Corra was favored by all… But, the Hobel was after a monster (Noemi).

Neither would fit the AFWE moniker but both have well integrated oak and are worth the effort.

2002 Goosecross Syrah
CT told me I was a few years past it’s window. Nose of cola, bacon fat and white pepper. Palate is soft with tobacco, rose petal and crushed blackberry. Medium Finish with an iron and menthol note. good, not great

2011 Bedrock Wine Company “Ode to Lulu”

God is it hot here…and this is really nice [cheers.gif]

Started off a bit big, but it was really well integrated and did not stick out like a sore thumb alongside the Bdx. We all were impressed.

Carlisle 2008 Zinfandel “Carlisle Vineyard.” [cheers.gif]

03 Carlisle Feeney Zin from magnum

My last bottle of 2001 Heitz Bella Oaks, which I bought originally as a tip from another Berserker. Still a good deal for 30 bucks a bottle.

With Churro lamb ribs, potatoes, and beets, we had a slightly low acid 1998 Dobra Zemlya Amador County Syrah.

Last bottle of 2008 Loring Divergence. My neighbor loves this wine and it was his birthday.

Opened a gorgeous 2010 Seven of Hearts “Chatte d’Avignon” GSM yesterday, paired with pizza. Great wine for $25, perhaps one of the best domestic GSM’s you can buy right now.

2003 Mumm DVX - Very nice but did not change my mind that Schramsberg reserves are my favorite domestic sparklers.

2005 Qupe Syrah Purisima Mountain Vineyard.
