We got a number of wines from our friends that were in our wine group in SoCal. There was a rumor that a lot of the '83s were affected by rot. We got ours, in the wine group, from makers that were not affected by rot. The Maumes are just beginning to show well, they were very hard for many years.

Well, it was interesting even though one went down the drain–and they should have been consumed a few years ago.

Then popped the '97 version of the same wine - A year made a difference. This one was decent and enjoyed it with dinner.

Last night we had a 1997 Ridge Lytton Estate Grenache (80% Grenache, 18% Zinfandel, 2% Petite Sirah) with our salad and a 1999 Ridge Buchignani Ranch Old Vines Zinfandel (91% Zinfandel, 9% Carignane) with our dessert.

Last night 2000 Field Stone Alexander Vly Petite Sirah with grilled burgers. No, the wine wasn’t quite ready yet, but PS never is. lol

Then for dessert we finished the Castello di Amo Chianti Classico and a 1999 Ridge Buchignani Ranch Old Vines Zinfandel. Then we had a glass each of a leftover 1999 Susana Balbo Late-Harvest Mendoza Malbec with a shared half a TJ’s Milk Chocolate bar.
