What BEER are you drinking? (Part 2)

Very much agree with you about the orange can showing a lot of “Pizza Port.” I bought another six pack myself, and am enjoying it from that perspective.

And thank you for the tip on Los Molinos — adding it to my list! :clinking_beer_mugs:

Maybe someone here could help me out. Many years ago (maybe 20?) I used to buy a beer in the US that was made with Champagne yeast . I believe it came from France (or a nearby country) and started with the letter K (not sure on either). The brand was bought out by a large beverage company, and then stopped being made. Any idea of the brand ??? TIA.

Probably Kronenbourg.

Kasteel Cru?

That’s it!! Thx !!!

And damn it was so good!!

Yes, I can’t say I remember the exact taste as it’s been ~20 years, but we used to quite like it too. The bubbles did seem more prominent and fine (???)

Out of curiosity I looked at a couple of European sources and it must just be A total local product now.

Too bad it missed the later wave when it might have succeeded.

Oaky and boozy. 28th anniversary edition. Central Waters Brewing

I thought at first that was a Great Divide beer I wasn’t aware of.

So is this a recommendation to avoid these beers, or are they great but a secret?

I thought they were all great. As it is, however, each of them is a “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”. The Mother Earth “Odin’s Ally” is part of their Project-X series, which features a new brew every couple of months or so. The other two are from Monkish, and tend to come around about once per year.

A few from the weekend

Some of those looks scary with the ABV, like drinking Belgian quadruples (worst case whole night realizing it too late!).

Cracked it open yesterday and shared with a small group. Being hot and humid out, for some reason it seemed like great weather for this kind of beer and it delivered. The fruit is huge and dominates over the funk, which takes a backseat, especially on the palate. I’d love to know how many lbs/gallon were added to this batch (2023). It’s like it slightly reduced the viscosity but not remotely approaching puree weirdness. Champagne like effervescence and head. This was my last Cantillon and by far my favorite. I drank a full glass and could have easily had 2.

I missed reporting on opening another bottle of this a month ago or so, but it’s lovely.

When I drink it, it’s more like wine than beer (to me).

Awesome!! What is the fruit that’s used for that one?

Honeysuckle berries.
