A few from the last month or two
This was really delicious and it crushed a NZ-styled IPA I had next to it. Nōmada is CDMX producer, very fine one.
Fascinating to see what’s going on in your area of Mexico..and that the beers are that good!
That can could be from Trillium and nobody would even blink.
If I’m looking for a beer and lunch, SF or East Bay. What’s great these days?
Thanks in advance.
Barebottle is my favorite local brewery. Don’t have many food recs up that way but definitely look for their stuff to try. I like all the nerdy detail they put on the can.
Drakes by Oakland airport. Or Faction
Toronado and then figure out lunch?
Zuni is a short walk/Uber after…
Did Toronado and Union Dumpling on the corner!
Damn, for some reason I thought Toronado closed. I am heading to SF Thursday and may need to hit it.
This was the recommendation I sent.
Ok all, Sonoma beer recommendation. West county preferred!
Russian River, of course. Also Moonlight Brewing in Santa Rosa. Their Death and Taxes is a great Schwarzbier/Dark Czech Pivo.
Ended up at Crooked Goat in The Barlow.
For New Belgium’s 35th anniversary they reissued original recipe Fat Tire, Blue Paddle Pilsner and Sunshine Wheat as a limited edition 12 pack.
I had a hard time finding one, but eventually tracked one down. The store said they got a super small supply.
So…
Fat Tire
Lighter in color than the current Fat Tire, but a deeper almost earthy spice tone now long gone from what’s available today. Good memory.
Blue Paddle Pilsner.
Best beer in the bunch. Very crisp, clean. A porch pounder.
Sunshine.
Least appealing. Almost devoid of any flavor.
Fun to revisit, but a single 12 pack is enough.
When it’s +30C most lagers will do. This Pan is ok. Except the Velebitsko which I think is one of the better lagers (unfortunately not available in our regular supermarket, anymore), I often go with Vukovarsko in Croatia - simple yet delicious, hint of round bitterness.
