Opened a 2019 Old Hill Ranch Heritage Wine and it feels like it comes from Dry Creek. That’s not a bad thing, just surprising how deep and sappy it feels. Great balance, just a bit more luscious than I was expecting.

For some reason I’ve mentally marked 2019 Bedrocks as ‘needs a lotta time’ but your note makes me want to check in on a couple. Surely Esola and Dolinsek are good to go, for example. Did you feel like the Old Hill might shed some fat with more time sideways, or more ‘this kinda what it is’?
It might shed some fat, but I don’t see why I would want it to. It’s uber-tasty.

I haven’t had the 2019 Old Hill yet, but Bedrock Heritage was in state of early readiness in April. I’d say give it a try…

I’m moving to Marin County next week. Anyone else pick up their Bedrock wine on one of the October pick up days? Are you able to taste wine at pickup?
Yes and yes. They usually pour 8 wines or so and have some cheese and charcuterie. It’s great.

2014 Pagani tonight. Tasty, but will probably continue to open up and develop for a few years.

Had this with Wagyu Tri-tip and sirloin. Explodes from the glass with savory bramble, cracked pepper and bright cherry. I don’t catch any of the cacao as some CT notes indicate nor is there anything plush about this. It’s lean and intentional and wants time. It reminds you that there were still gems made in 2020.
HOWTF is this only $52?

Nice pull my friend! Big fan of 2014 for Bedrock. Really great wines pretty much across the board IMHO

- 2012 Bedrock Wine Co. Heritage Wine Pagani Ranch - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley (7/25/2026)
Decanted for significant sediment. Black plum, tar and spice on the nose. More red fruited in the mouth, a mix of raspberry and blackberry with some earthy, brambly notes. Nice acid lift. Still showing some tannin on the backend and while delicious and totally approachable now I think this has the fruit and acidity to age and improve another 10+ years.

Coincidentally, I also had this last night and it was superb. Alas, my last bottle but it was in a perfect spot for my palate.

WineBid has a massive Bedrock selection this week - looks like a cellar clearout from a longtime mailing list customer or something. And yet no 2018 Pagani, which I have been chasing for two years now, to put together a vineyard horizontal with Ridge and Carlisle. Rats.
Good news is it’s available at 3 shops currently!

Curious to hear reports on this wine. I didn’t buy, have bought various wines from bedrock over the years though. Very much enjoy their under the wire project and areio e vento e amor evangelho bottling.
