What Bedrock wine are you drinking tonight?

2017-Pato
Beautiful and fragrant nose, Zinberry fruit upfront takes the mainstage, medium body, smooth or resolved tannins. Not very structured or complex. Ready to drink now.

Had the rest of a coravin bottle of 2022 Dolinsek with dinner last night and it was just as good as on last tasting a week or two ago. It is definitely a ripe and rich example but the acidity and freshness is there, along with a peppery, spicy finish.

2023 Bedrock Wine Co. Sauvignon Blanc

On sale for $14. 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Uboldi, Bedrock and Judge vineyards. A little warm at first but it improved as it chilled. Pale yellow color. Minerally with lemon and floral notes. Moderate acidity with a little tartness on the finish. 88 points.

Awesome! And at a great price!
What wine would pair well with the pickled eggs I remember so fondly?

Have been drinking the ‘23 Carignan - really good lighter style/ ‘juicy’ wine

From a p&p - Another great addition to the Bedrock stable and continues to demonstrate that the 23 vintage is without doubt, one of the great Bedrock vintages of the last 15 or so years. I expected a more plush typical RR Zin, but this was surprisingly structured. A dense back bone anchors a beautifully delineated array of dark savory fruits that are already showing some depth and complexities. I know the 23 Dolinsek is the critical darling as it should be, it fantastic, but I think this is right there, stride for stride. Drinking well already and sleep well to age this as long as you like. 2020 Bedrock Bien Nacido Chardonnay

Really nice. Beautiful nose, citrus and green apple. More on the lemony side in the mouth, with a nice and very subtle touch of richness and body that comes through on the finish, but still very crisp. They did a great job of straddling lively and body, i think. I don’t think its a stretch to say its like a light, young Chassagne, which is some praise.

These buggers make some good whites. I can’t remember one I havent liked.

2013 Exposition One Syrah.
Easily the best of the three. #2 and #3 felt young. This one is in prime time. Spectacular wine.

Ha! I noticed his comment on a review the other day and thought ‘wow, he’s gotten kinda aggressive on CT’ ha ha!

No freaking way. Please tell me this is AI.

I had to turn comments off on my reviews because of that guy. He was upset over some of my reviews.

Crap, missed the obvious “He hath risen!” joke!

IIRC, Morgan stopped working with this vineyard after this vintage because the farming wasn’t quite up to the level of other Syrah sites he had access to, but this wine had been consistently excellent over the years.

Oh man this is in a great place. Major olive tapenade nose. Black cherry and more olive plus bacon notes in the mouth. A silky mouthfeel and long, savory finish. Drinking at or near peak imo.

Ughhh. So brutal - sorry that happened! Wild how aggressive and cocky he’s gotten on CT…especially since he was pretty universally known for having some of the worst takes on WB.

I had the same experience - finally just blocked him. He was upset that I rated a particular wine at around 89, and then that I rated a Bedrock Syrah higher.
