Ridge Geyerserville ATP 1985
Younger:
Torii Mor Pinot Noir Temperance Hill Eola Hills 2004
Ridge Geyersville 2005
McCrea Syrah Ciel du Cheval Vineyard 2005 (just last night and also gets a most potential award)

Belle Pente Pinot Noir Estate Reserve Yamhill-Carlton 2006

Wines that I expected nothing from and were wonderful
Château de Casenove Côtes du Roussillon 2000
Les Caves de la Colombe Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2003
Most absolute fun party wine of the year:
Lini Lambrusco Reggiano Lini dal 1910 N.V.
Top really bad (but not flawed) wines:
2004 Val de Flores Malbec Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco (which I wrote was either a 78 or a 93)
Going to a dinner on Friday that will probably add a couple to my list, but so far off the top of my head
'42 & 49 Krug, '69 DP Oeno Black Label, '71 Taittinger CdC, '19 Vogue Musigny, '71 RC mag, '78 Giacosa CRR, '61 Latour a Pomerol, '66 & '69 La Mouline are the ones that come to mind.

2006 Kutch pinot
2007 Vacheron Sancerre
Lots of honorable mentions that could land on this list if I wrote it on a different day, in a different mood, etc. The interesting thing is that these are not necessarily the highest CT scores I gave, but the wines that I still think about long after tasting them.

in no particular order and just reporting from the major varietals, Domestic/Imported:
Cab Sav - 2002 Ghost Horse/1966 Haut-Brion
Pinot Noir - 2007 Ceritas Escarpa/1996 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche (love generous friends)
Syrah - 2002 Cayuse Bionic Frog/1995 Vieux Telegraphe La Crau
Merlot - 2001 Arietta H Block/2001 Pavie
Sav Blanc - 2008 Modus Operandi/1990 Haut-Brion blanc (which i really enjoyed holiday season of 2008)
Chardonnay - 2005 Lynmar Serenitie/2002 Wiliam Fevre Les Clos (God i had a great bottle)
I’ve had the pleasure of drinking many wonderful wines in 2009 but the top spot goes to a great bottle of 1969 Chappellet Cab. It’s the best CA Cab I’ve ever tasted. Blind I would have guessed 91 or 94 vintage due to the color and freshness of the bottle. Unless I open a 74 Mt Eden, I don’t think this is in danger of loosing the top spot this year.
