For the first time in living memory I am going to have a NYE that doesn’t involve dancing to Phil Lesh or Railroad Earth and thus actually get to have a quite evening with a special Champagne.
I’m thinking about the 2000 Comtes de Champagne. The 1998 rocked my world and the 2000 is available locally so I think Im going for that. Anyone here try it?

Where are you getting it locally?
They have a bunch at Total Wine near Arden Fair. A bit pricey though.
I think I’m going to get a bottle or two of the NV Bollinger Special Cuvee at Enotria
spend the extra coin and go for the 98 krug at $189/$199 IIRC
It’s a great NV for the price. I don’t have any notes on it, but I’ve always been happy with it. Enotria has it for $38 per which is a very good.
We bought 6 of Bouchard’s Roses de Jeanne Blanc de Blancs “La Bolorée” for X-Mas Dinner and New Years Eve.
I haven’t but I really want to try it and the price is great
We’ll have the 1988 Krug with dinner then head to sleep well before the clock striked midnight.

I would highly recommend 1999 instead if you can find it. 2000 is way too young, fruit is hiding behind the structure.

the 1999 Comtes,as Leo says, is the wine to drink right now!

We Have 4 bottles coming from Fat Cork in Seattle, Bryan picked them out. Will post notes later
I’ve had quite a few from Fat Cork (FC was prominently featured in our recent Grower Champagne tasting at my place) - which ones are you getting?
Todd,
One is the 99 Grongnet Special Club,I’ll let you know when I get the other 3
I’m not sure yet but I suspect it will be epic.

You are too young to be a deadhead Berry. I saw the boyz 298 times, but, alas, no New Years shows for me (I just listened to them on the radio).
