Part of my frustration is that these are also just about my 10 most expensive wines. I hate that humankind is apt to pre-judge a wine based on its price and/or reputation. I would love a separate rating system whereby it was not only a different rating system, but there were sections of ONLY blind tasting notes/ratings. That would truly tell me something.

1982 Pichon Lalande
2002 Harlan
2000 Domaine de Marcoux VV
1990 Montrose
1982 LMHB
2003 Lafite
1988 Elio Altare Barolo Vigneto Arborina
1995 Remoissenet Père et Fils Montrachet
2004 Penfolds Bin 60A
1992 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg

But I have to mention that the 1990 La Chapelle is a better wine than the Harlan, just didn’t make the list.

Interesting exercise. The very top and bottom of my wine’s scores are skewed due to lack of a large sample size and a bunch have no TN or scores. My top 10 is boring and dominated by Schrader with 9 of the top 10 being Schrader. The only exception in the top 10 being 01 d’Yquem (which also has the most TNs by a large margin). What’s more interesting to me is the bottom 10 (excluding wines with no TNs or scores).

Bottom 10:
09 Dublere Taillepieds CT 84
08 Dubreuil-Fontaine Corton-Bressandes CT86
08 Hudelot-Noellat Beaux Monts CT 86.5
05 Faiveley Mazis CT 87
08 Jadot Les Fuees CT 87
09 Mugnier C-M CT 87.5
07 Dubreuil-Fontaine Ile des Vergelesses CT 88
01 Dujac Echezeaux CT 88.2
07 Dujac C-M CT 88.3
09 Dujac MSD CT 88.7

All Burgundy, including 3 from my beloved Dujac. Just goes to show how people have different palates and preferences.

2007 Maybach Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Materium CT97.2
2009 Saxum James Berry Vineyard CT96.3
2008 Saxum Bone Rock James Berry Vineyard CT96
2001 Shafer Hillside Select CT95.6
2007 Lewelling Cabernet Wight CT95.5
2003 Quilceda Creek Cabernet CT95.5
2007 Saxum James Berry Vineyard CT95.5
2008 Maybach Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Materium CT95.3
2005 Quilceda Creek Cabernet CT95.3
2008 Myriad Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane CT95.2

Based on my wine experience all my notes should be considered “blind”. newhere [tease.gif]

I’m sure I can find something acceptable (Schrader) to bring when we eventually have dinner. [winner.gif]

My top 10 CT:

6 Schrader (assorted 07 08 09)
1 08 Kapcsandy Grand Vin Cab
1 07 Lewelling Wight
1 08 Maybach
1 08 ACV Cab

Me like Gilman’s list better… [cheers.gif]
Where does he put the 99 Monfortino?

Interesting, not at all how I would have guessed they would rate.

I’ll never get to it at his peak time…

Maureen - Do you happen to know what it is about Grivot that John dislikes?

I wish my bottom ten were Dujacs and Mugnier. [cheers.gif]

Interesting - I didn’t realize CT had that feature.

My top rated (by CT) wine is the '90 Ciacci Brunello Riserva at 97, and it just so happens that I have a bottle stood up right now for potential consumption later in the evening [cheers.gif] .

Can’t one just subscribe to the WA and get the same scores? [stirthepothal.gif]
