I’m on a random kick of drinking sparkling wine (cava, other cheap sparklers) and splashing in a dash of something else (prob because the wines are cheap!)
Was using St Germain for a while, then it was pomegranate pava - I know about the obvious (OJ, kir royale)…
I adore orange juice and I thoroughy enjoy creme de cassis. And, of course, I adore sparkling wine. But (and a big but) putting those together is a waste of good sparkling wine and either orange juice and creme de casis.
Of course if the sparkler is junk, add anything you can. Sheesh…if it is really bad and you have to drink it, try adding bruised mint leaves. But if even the cheapest Cava gives pleasure, drink it on its own and then enjoy your orange juice for breakfast, your creme de cassis with nothing more than sparkling mineral water (I especially recommend Badoit) or your mint as mint tea.
Absolutely right. Popular agreement is not, however, the test of whether something is “good”, “bad” or “indifferent”. The most popular selling beverage in the world is Coca Cola. Does that therefore make Coca Cola the “best” or “right” beverage …?
