I’m trying to find one or more bottles of 2007 Girardin Corton Charlemagne Quintessence for the upcoming series of premox dinners on February 4 and/or March 19. Provenance is important.
Wish I could help. Maybe the oak will prevent premox

Actually, oak isn’t an issue with the Girardin Cortons from 2004 onward. Girardin has repeatedly lowered the percentage of new oak over time. Prior to 2002 it was 100% for the Corton Charlemagnes. In 2002 that percentage was reduced to 80%. In 2004 it was reduced to 40%. In 2008 it was down to 25%. In 2009 it was 20%. The 2004 and 2005 versions of the Quintessence were truly outstanding wines. That’s why I’m trying to obtain some 2007 for this year’s premox dinners.
