Yet Another Wine Column Casualty in the Newspaper Business : Vinography" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I noticed in their late December column they stated it would be their last. I’ve always enjoyed reading their writing but thought it to have more a focus for the beginner/intermediate. Matt Kramer subbed last week and his article on MT Eden was outstanding. Sure wish they would hire him (Haven’t subscribed to WS after it converted to a lifestyles magazine, but his writing is the one thing I miss).
Any thoughts?
While I never had really read their columns, I was thinking just this morning that OTBN was coming up in late Feb. I hope there will be some interest in the wine loving community to keep that tradition going, maybe a thread sometime in February?
Agree with Scott!
Liked this tradition of a day on an international basis when many people would open that special bottle. Maybe a tradition to be kept here–say January 27??
I remember reading and loving their columns back in the late 1990s. I guess I did grow out of that though when I became more wine-savvy.
I did read them once in a while over the past several years. I had an email subscription to their column that would come every Thursday night late. If it was something interesting I would tell my buds to be sure and read it in the morning. They thought I was psycho… I mean psychic… well maybe both ![bow [bow.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/3/34fe6dfbb5b9ca18529c11cea0b49f72cb1f17d5.gif)
So what’s going to happen to OTB night?
You’re behind the news. There was another thread on this a month ago:
