Wait list times

You’re just dying to get on that list, aren’t you?

Well done! I guess my only consolation is I picked up a half case of '21 on auction. I have not tried it yet but will try one soon following the recommendation of double decanting say about 12 hours in advance. My guess is MacDonald will continue to climb in price on the secondary market making it even less likely to ever get on the list.

I remember being in on the first release of MacDonald and dropping off the list because I thought they were too austere for my taste in Napa Cab. Guess I could have held on and flipped but ain’t got time for that!

Just got notified that I will get an offering from Saxum on August 5th. I signed up October 31, 2021, so not quite 4 years on the waitlist. Not bad…

I got the same notice, you buying?

Apparently, they’re not that much demand anymore.

I made the mailing list four years ago. Have yet to buy anything from their offers, but still keep getting offers.

I think so, depending on price. I haven’t had a lot of their bottles, but what I have had has been great. I’ve tried Broken Stones and the James Berry white, which was excellent. If anyone has any recs on which bottles to buy, please let me know.

The pricing kept creeping up and up. Seems to have really thinned out the waitlist

This is good intel. Thanks.

Hexe, G2, and 4 Hearts have been my favorites.

Saxum is a fantastic wine, thank you Justin, a true pioneer of Paso wine

This Fall marks 19 years on the Screaming Eagle waiting list. I’ve moved 3 times in that period. Last communication with them said that I was “close.”

Wow! That is crazy long.

This seems to be a bit uncommon situation.

I have no idea when I joined the SE waiting list. I can guarantee it’s with an old Hotmail or Netscape account that’s long gone from existence, or snail mail. I found out I had a few offers from some really good wine in the late 90s/early 2000s but they were sent to my old PO box.

Being out of the loop for a number of years, is Screaming Eagle still “Screaming Eagle”? (If that makes sense). I’ve never had it but it was always a Napa and critics’ darling. Still the same or nah?

having just tasted through these I would be holding 21. A great wine but nearly ready. In the absence of that I’d decant 18

There is another thread here about the softening of the cult cab market.

I saw that some of the wines are selling for less through the auctions at K&L. I decided to pull back on buying from them when I saw that they were no longer the best price.
