Visit to Chateauneuf

I’ll add Daniel Coulon at Domaine Beaurenard to the list of worthwhile visits. Daniel speaks very good English, and they produce a range of wines that I’ve generally liked quite a bit, even though the Boisrenard red tends to the riper side. The Rasteau Argilles Bleu is an interesting contrast to the regular Rasteau. And the winery is in town and easy to find.

And, close by, is Clos des Papes.

Just below the ruins is a wonderful restaurant (Le Verger des Papes) Where you can eat outside with a great view. Don’t miss.
