Daniel speaks very good English, and they produce a range of wines that I’ve generally liked quite a bit, even though the Boisrenard red tends to the riper side. The Rasteau Argilles Bleu is an interesting contrast to the regular Rasteau. And the winery is in town and easy to find.

Just got back from two weeks in Provence (spent a day in Aix as part of it). Outside of the good recommendations for visits (I like La Nerthe), I would highly recommend that you spend a little time driving to the top of the hill to view the ruins of the papal “summer home”. It’s pretty cool, for what it is.

Just below the ruins is a wonderful restaurant (Le Verger des Papes) Where you can eat outside with a great view. Don’t miss.
