I’m in awe at the support of all you fabulous people who are participating in Frank’s challenge for Laura’s House. Most of us take it for granted that we spend the holidays with friends and family who love us. One client told me this week that they were grateful for a safe nights sleep and healthy food. This is what your support provides and I can’t thank you enough for being an extended part of the Laura’s House family:purple_heart:
We watched the highlights on that Sharks game. Looks like Smith and Celebrini are really fitting in nicely. I wish the Kings had Toffoli back but it was not to be. My oldest is a Sharks fan though, and it’s good to see them playing some quality hockey.
2016 Ceritas Hellenthal Vineyard Old Shop Block
Ruby color. Nose is subtle red fruit. Taste is red-fruited with a hint of spice and dark tea.
Very nice.
Had the drive back from Phoenix y/day, just finally settling down for today.
Wanted to thank everyone for their support here. So many of you posted notes, with most of you doing photos. To the goal of humanizing our forum, which for me is achieved in part when we appear as people, then I would say we over-achieved on my objective. I met a # of you for the first time, and got to see some of you again after nearly a year.
I’ve done a rough count and I will make a $1,500 donation to Laura’s House. I have two matching donors, and if they choose to match (we’re about $400 over what we usually do for the challenge), then we can call that another $3,000. Whatever my anonymous matchers decide to do, we’re grateful.
@Marcus_Goodfellow had his own challenge embedded in the thread, so please sort out when you can what that amount is. @Chris_Seiber had a photo challenge at $5 so I’ll het him sort that, too. We had another Berserker donate $100 and since I am unclear if he wanted his name shared, we’ll leave him anonymous. And, we have @brigcampbell doing $100, so that also goes into the mix–thanks Brigger.
Given all that match, we all do over $5,000 for this challenge donated to Laura’s House. This is a wonderful, supportive amount that will do as @Margaret_Bayston said–to provide safety and health for those who are fleeing violence and avoiding in some cases being killed.
I am grateful so many of you participated and cared enough to take time from your own day to post, share a photo and do something for someone else. In gratitude, thank you.
Now, let’s support Brian as he kicks off his week, and to the rest of the leaders who will take weeks throughout December.
Where is Brian’s thread, @ToddFrench hello?
Did you count? I was hoping I could piggyback off your effort.
Frank, we hit 14 bottles of wine made by Deep Roots Coalition members, for $70. I’ll bump it to $100 so we can keep up with Brig. thanks for doing this every year.
Thank you for supporting Laura’s House this time, and for taking a leadership role in the week, too. Appreciate that very much.
And to learn you are a hockey fan. That was a cool find from this week’s exchanges here.
Just saw this part about the Deeps Roots Coalition, here is a couple from a Cameron dinner at Estela within the time frame.
After a few near misses I FINALLY met John Paul!
2021 Cameron Abbey Ridge - Love this wine. It has just the right balance of earth, funk and fruit. I hate to say a wine is Burgundian but if I allow myself one transgression I would use it on a Cameron.
2022 Dundee Pinot Noir Reserve - Another stunning Pinot at the Estela Cameron dinner! Earthy, funk with tons of structure and fruit! James Brown at his peak!
BTW that is Faustine Abbatucci with John Paul, she was a guest at the dinner!
AND this past weekend here is Ketan Mody tasting 2023 Mugnier Musigny with us at Mugnier this past Friday
2023 Mugnier Musigny - Life affirming, life changing, scintillating, mind-blowing…everything we all hope for in a wine! I love 2023 in Burgundy and it all just clicked at Mugnier.
Sorry for the late additions I will triple the donation for every one of mine since they are late!
p.s. you can barely see me on the left in the mirror behind John Paul so I should get the photo credit!
Seriously thanks @Frank_Murray_III for doing this for such a worthy cause!
I have 4 notes/photos. How do I donate to get whatever matches are available?
@Robert_Dentice @Tom_G_l_a_s_g_o_w
Hey. Good evening. All of the matches are done. I made mine yesterday and one of my anonymous donors made a very nice donation today but you’re still welcome to donate on your own activity. I know Margaret and Laura’s House would dig the help right now.
Use this link to donate whatever you wish and know we appreciate it!
done!
Thanks! I saw your IG page…cool stuff there, Robert. Very groovy and cool.
