A compendium (plural: compendia) is a concise, yet comprehensive compilation of a body of knowledge. A compendium may summarize a larger work. In most cases the body of knowledge will concern some delimited field of human interest or endeavour (for example, hydrogeology, logology, ichthyology, phytosociology, or myrmecology), while a “universal” encyclopedia can be referred to as a compendium of all human knowledge.
It all started here, FMIII running out of storage space for wine and his good friend Brian volunteering to help motivate Frank to drink more from his cellar. That’s what good friends are for… How does this whole Virtual Tasting Series (VTS) thingy work?
- The current VTS week host selects a theme and creates a new topic Thursday morning in the wine talk forum
- Todd will make it sticky so it stands at the top of the forum.
- Then the wineberserker community from around the world starts pulling corks and posting tasting notes into the thread for all to share.
- There’s an important charitable aspect to each week as the sponsor decides on a worthy cause and makes a donation in the name of wineberserkers worldwide. The more tasting notes you write the more money goes to a worthy cause.
- At the bottom of this post is a list of future hosts and the date, we transition to the next in line. You’ll receive a reminder a few days before so no need to worry once you’ve thrown your hat into the ring.
- Come the following Thursday morning the handoff occurs
- GOTO #1 and the process starts over
