Hard to go wrong with any of those. Jean George effed up my steak a few months ago, but once they got it right it was really good. I’m in Vegas next weekend and going to Delmonico, where I had an awesome steak last year. Added bonus: their corkage is $25/bottle and $35/magnum with no limit.
Prime is really nice and the location is pretty cool too, right next to the fountains. Good wine list but the markups are stupid. Of course, it’s vegas so what can you expect right?
I have to ask this question…and I’m truly curious…
Assuming (I know this isn’t true for many of you) you all have decent-to-great steakhouses in the cities you live. A lot of you source top-quality mail-order steak to cook at home. When going to Vegas, why is it a top (food) priority to eat steak at a steakhouse?
Many of the Vegas steakhouses are in fact quite good, and it’s an easy lowest-common-denominator restaurant for groups of men on vacation who are drinking and gambling.
It is hard for me to eat at a steakhouse in any city any more. I think Brent is onto something with his response. Also, the wines that I tend to enjoy (taking price out of the equation) are found at steakhouses.
To answer the question above, Craftsteak is where I would spend my money.
Rob, it has been on the list there for almost three years (that I know of). Of course they could have multiple bottles, but the bulk of folks in there are drinking Silver Oak Alex, Opus, Jordan and Far Niente from my experience.
From what I remember, none of Emeril’s restaurants have their respective wine lists online. Best bet might be to call and see if you can get an electronic copy or a fax.
surprised no one mentioned Cut. thought the menu was more interesting than most places and the wine list had TONS of sick burgs on the list at non-insane prices (several vintages of multiple Truchot terroirs – if you’re into that thing).
