2009 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Fleurie (4/16/2011)
2 bottles with consistent notes. Very enjoyable wine at this point but it really needs to age. LaPierre was more expressive than this but I’ve come to the conclusion with the best 09 Cru Beaujolais that at this point I should be drinking 09 Beaujolais Village and generic Beaujolais. These beauties need to sleep a bit. (90 pts.) -
2010 Domaine Dupeuble Pere et Fils Beaujolais Nouveau - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Beaujolais Nouveau (4/16/2011)
Consistent experience with 5 bottles. This was a wonderful example of Nouveau and so incredibly removed from the Deboeuf experience. Great with food and cheeses. Real honest wine. Can’t wait for the 2011. (90 pts.) -

Very good and drinking well. At this point I’m not sorry I purchased (14.50 at closeout). However it lacks magic. Even a little bit of magic would suffice. (89 pts.) -
2008 Castillo de Monseran Garnacha Cariñena - Spain, Aragón, Cariñena (4/16/2011)
My wife absolutely loves this wine. She is a migraine sufferer and this didn’t bother her in the least. For me, a competent example of Spanish Grenache. Just usually can’t get excited about this grape when produced in Spain. Much better with food. Drank 5 bottles with consistent notes. (87 pts.) -
2006 Gruet Pinot Noir Cuvée Gilbert Gruet - USA, New Mexico (3/30/2011)
So tasty now in an everyday drinking sort of way. I think it still has the potential to get better but am not as sure. I’ll try to hold off for 6 months to make a better decision. Good pinot character. The wood was a little out of focus this time. (89 pts.) -

Good workmanlike Bourdeaux. A pleasant drink that is softening nicely. (88 pts.) -

A decent Sauternes that lacks depth. Enjoyed the experience but it did not have any excitement. (87 pts.) -

Deep, dark and haunting. What it lacked was grace and depth of aromatics. (90 pts.) -
2006 A to Z Wineworks Pinot Noir - USA, Oregon (3/9/2011)
Very good Oregon Pinot. Would have liked a little more verve, but that is not what this wine is about. At peak. (90 pts.)
