My friend, Rusty Gaffney who is the Pinot Noir passionate guy behind his super fine PinotFile online newsletter is part of a group who is putting on an event in Anaheim from 10 am-2 pm on Saturday, November 8 featuring many different varietals of wines from West Sonoma County producers.
The wines will be inclusive of limited bottlings and are coming from some of the best producers in all of the State including Littorai, DuMOL, Siduri, Flowers, Peay and Martinelli. There are some good food purveyors there as well.
Here`s an intro statement: Orange Coast Magazine Presents West of West Orange County
The first significant regional wine tasting festival will be held at the Honda Grand Terrace Event Center in Anaheim, CA, on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Sponsored by Orange Coast Magazine and West Sonoma Coast Vintners, this will be a look at the newest trend in wine tasting festivals.
Looks good, Blake. Pinot is certainly a big part of the tasting but you can expect a good deal of Chardonnay and some very good cool-climate Syrah (Peay, Red Car, and Baker Lane are especially notable for that). If Fort Ross is there, they’ll probably have their Pinotage on hand, and you might find a Sauv Blanc, Viognier, or other white being poured at the event too.
I misread Rusty`s comment in PinotFile to mean only Pinot Noir, but going back and re-reading, I can see there could be more varietals. He was just alluding to that part that included PNs.
