Sharing a quick note:
Opened a '20 BdN from Heintz Vineyard this weekend. Aside from a hint of greenness, this was a pretty sound bottle. Definitely drinkable. The greenness became more of the jalapeno thing we’ve all seen with air, but it wasn’t so strong that the wine was unpleasant. Was it a $75 bottle that competes with Champagne though? No.

It seems like the 2020s are still selling for $90-$100 on winebid. I’m surprised that buyers who are “in the know” enough to want ultramarine are not also connected to CellarTracker, Reddit, or wineberserker. A quick peek at any of the available threads or tasting notes would have me noping right out.

Still batting 1000 with good bottles. Have not had any 2020’s yet.

Sour lemon tarts and celery salt! Love the dryness in this…lean and chiseled, some pear flesh, smokey lees…it’s not elegant or regal…but does have balance…just full of crushed minerality and tension…I dig it! (94 pts.)

Got the Save The Date for the 2022 release (9/18), and even though i havent purchased for multiple years now, apparently i still get a guaranteed allocation.
I’m sure it goes without saying, but this is the easiest pass ever.

I need to get my 20’s listed then!
I just got an email that I’m off the wait list, almost exactly four years after I signed up. I’m bummed that so much has changed in that time - I have no interest in grabbing this allocation. I am curious how four years compares to what the wait looked like before the jalapeño juice hit the market.
I bought that vintage which was Less than ideal and not offered another vintage then I got an offer today. Very odd

I was also offered an allocation after not buying for many years. Is there any chance they have course-corrected with the 22 vintage?
I barely waited a year and they put me on an active list last September.
I think a more important question is whether they have completely changed their ethical standards and issued a sincere public apology, explaining why they would never make this mistake again.

Corrected what course? They have stood by all of their wines.

I get that mindset…but it started in 2019 
Had been with them from 2012 vintage and loved ‘em. Passed on 20and 21.Went with Cruise sparking for those couple of years. These were my first sparkling awakenings and am willing to trust.

Fair enough! I was in the same boat - purchasing full allocations since 2011 and also stopped with 2020 (thankfully). I loved the early wines…but absolutely hate how the winery handled the clear/prevalent issues with the 2020s and some of the 19’s. So much so that, out of sheer principal, I’ll never buy from them again (just a me thing).
Here’s to hoping they can recreate the magic that they used to! Let us know once you pop a bottle
