My flight was delayed getting to Minneapolis, then we sat on the Tarmac for 20 min - I miss my flight and have to PAY to stay here and leave tomorrow

If you were a 100,000 mile flyer with United, they would give you a hotel room for the night.
Last time I misconnected (as a 50k flyer), UA gave me bupkis. But, and there’s always a but, you should e mail NW and explain your situation, especially if NW is someone at fault. You never know when the airline will offer you a cash or discount cert. If you don’t ask, you don’t get! And believe you me, my travel buddies wrote the book on that!! neener

The other evening, a pilot failed to show up for a flight that I was on.

For pilot no-shows, UA will put you up in a hotel room if it’s the last flight of the night. They also handed out a $15 meal voucher. I bet you don’t know how many biscotti you can buy at Starbucks with $15? [grin.gif]

And since you’re asking, I received a $350 voucher (travel credits, for the few of you that are interested). [drinkers.gif]
