Two Chardonnays (Chablis and Jura)

We recently had two lovely Chardonnays in Barcelona. Drank over two hours, both wines were a delight.

2024 Tissot (Bénédicte et Stéphane / André et Mireille) Chardonnay Arbois Patchwork - France, Jura, Arbois (8/4/2026)
Purchased from the wine list at Ultramarinos Marin. This wine needs serious air. It’s showing super young. We swirled and swirled until finally we were able to coax some nice aromas. I love Jura Chardonnay, and this wine definitely showed Jura like characteristics. Slightly waxy with lemon chiffon flavors and crushed wild flowers. Beautifully balanced, with good density and minerality. I think this wine has a great future. Opening one now requires at least an hour of air.

2022 Domaine de l'Enclos Chablis A L'Ouest - France, Burgundy, Chablis (7/27/2026)
Purchased off the list at Gresca in Barcelona. From the get-go, this wine was beautiful. Wonderful Chablis like aromas with a slight floralness. The palete really shines, showing all the hallmarks we love in Chablis: oyster shell, lemon and a slight floral presence. You can sense the natural winemaking. Structurally, the acidity and mineral are perfectly balanced. This wine gets better with air throughout the course of our meal. A screaming value at €40.
