Tuscany Trip in September

Have a trip with the wife planned in September to Italy. I have never been but love their wine. We will be staying in Tuscany (Castelfalfi) for 3 days and wanted to explore the wine regions. Love me top tier like Tignanello, Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Solaia, etc. I know nothing about the region except it’s absolutely beautiful. Wanted to see if anyone recommends wineries in that region. For us it’s all about the food and wine. Any and all recommendation are appreciated. I know there are boutique mom and pop wine shops that have absolutely incredible wine super inexpensive. All about the passion that goes into making the wine and very much looking forward.

We just stayed in Castelfalfi, it’s fantastic. The winery on site is physically very nice (wines are decent not great) and you can do a (slightly overpriced) tour and tasting there. They can also put together a tasting of other high end Tuscan wines. The concierges are great, service in general is top notch. Just be aware that it’s a bit of a hike to get really anywhere, it’s about a half hour on back roads to get to any more major roads. Montenidoli is about half hour away though that’s very different than the wines you mentioned. Any of the more well known Tuscan wineries in Chianti or Bolgheri are going to be an hour plus.

Awesome! The hotel actually helped me out big time. They recommended wineries very close to hotel. Ended up booking at Antinori, Ornellaia, and Tua Rita. Hope it’s worth the long drives. Looking forward! They did mention at the hotel that they can also do tastings. Might not be a bad idea after a long day or tasting more wine.

Yeah the hotel is so nice you really won’t want to leave the property!
