The fall offering for Torrin is live.
Little bit surprised that my allocation went down by a bottle. I maxed out last time… Oh well, not a bog deal.
My last purchase was from the '08 vintage and I wasn’t a fan. Wonder if it’s a vintage thing?
Love the wines! Some of the best in Paso (IMHO) along with Booker, Saxum, etc. Took my small allocation and wish listed a few more. Hopefully I’ll get to pick up the extras.
2010 was a tad short, 2011 should be pretty short but 2012 (and I believe to an extent 2013) should be plentiful.
I enjoy the Torrin wines - meaty, beaty big and bouncy. I can’t explain why. They are no substitute for Saxum, but they are worth seeking out - anyway, anyhow, anywhere.
(Sorry -could not resist after describing the wines as Meaty beaty big and bouncy).
Anyway . . . I have been a buyer since the 07 vintage as I recall and my allocation is only 2 of each. That’s ok. At $62 per, I would want to limit my purchase anyway.
These are well crafted wines - full of rich fruit but nicely balanced. I am a bit skeptical on how they will age; I hold that same skepticism for Saxum. I do enjoy the full rich flavor - good fruit with a balancing savory element. My experience is that, right out of the gate, they show a bit of heat. Four or five hours in a decanter and the heat disappears.
Mr. Dunnuck’s numbers from his reviews seem high but then, many of the Wine Advocate numbers seem high. A “98” for The Akasha?
I got two of each. I’ve only had the Maven and Tsundere before, and I’ll be interested in trying these. It will also be interesting to see how they compare to Scott Hawley’s other wines from Law Estate.
k.
I will not be taking my allocation (2 each) let me know if you want it.
Who are you?
Who? Who? Who? Who?
Well who the %&#@ are you?
It was pretty obvious, but if I didn’t somebody was going to. And I love The Who Or at least did back in the days of vinyl
Took my four bottle allotment! These are exciting young wine guys and I love Paso wines!
