Any of you TiVo’ers happen to notice that they changed the show title from “Top Chef All Stars” to “Top Chef”? Nicely screwed up my season pass. Good thing Bravo replays every show 1000 times.

Yup, that’s her. And even though she looks nice in the photo that Chris has…I’m not a fan of her looks. Which is fair, because I’m pretty sure she’s not a fan of my looks either.

But really, she is the worst as host.

Too bad about Jen. That said, she lost in a prior season due to poor seasoning, and it seems like seasoning (or lack thereof) of the hard boiled egg sent her home this time. Not an inspired dish.

Stephen never showed much talent, so it was good to see him go. Dale was more of a disappointment. All of the bottom four would have been in anyone’s bottom four or five going into the episode.

I was just happy that Angelo didn’t win another challenge.

Yeah, we all knew Stephen was canon fodder. It was just a matter of when. I’m also disappointed in Dale leaving so early. Given the feedback from the judges, I thought Tiffani would go.

Good themes for the quickfire and elimination round tonight. I can’t recall folks scrambling as much in any challenge as they did for tonight’s quickfire. I’m surprised there were no knife wounds.

Btw, did anyone see Ripert’s takedown of Elia? He had a video for her after she apparently mouthed off about Colicchio. It’s priceless.

He clearly wasn’t going to last that long, but I thought the editing was weird, with Tom praising several elements of the dish before he was sent home.

Good episode, it was pretty evident that Stephen would go home sooner than later. I was surprised at Dale’s kick-off, I was really expecting Tiffani to get let go. Still, it was a fun and interesting episode.

BTW, am I the only one who finds Fabio’s commentary really annoying whenever they do the single-person videos?

I found it kind of ironic that both Stephen and Dale got sent home for cuisine and styles they were most comfortable with, while the winning dish came from a chef who was admittedly out of his comfort zone.

It’s happened before, and I’m sure it will keep happening. Every time a chef starts getting confident in the challenge, watch out.

Dale was fun to watch. Padma saying “hi ladies” and Dale mentioning “jazz hands” hahaha.
Eric Ripert’s polite smackdown of Elia in his v-log was great too.

As a digression: Do most people really have a hard time understanding (most) French accents without subtitles? They tend to subtitle people speaking with a French accent, but leave Italian or Spanish accents alone.

Fabio also looked rather surprised that he didn’t get the ax.

Quite an interesting episode, must have been hard to end up at wd-50 or Townhouse if you’re not in that kind of cuisine. The other 2 looked a lot more mainstream.

That elimination surprised me. I thought Tiffani and Fabio were going home; not sad to see Stephen go; bummed about Dale leaving so early – his work usually shows an inspired creativity that I find interesting. I really can’t believe Tiffani didn’t get sent … her dish looked like a 1990 Rude Dog t-shirt that saw the business end of a blender
