Tomato-Basil Soup, Crostini w/Peppers, and Noceto Sangiovese

Tonight’s light supper, trying to recover from the past several days of indulgence, was Progresso tomato-basil soup with an added peeled, seeded, and chopped tomato, and topped with Prunatelli EVOO and a chiffonade of fresh basil. With the soup we had four each crostinis, topped with mascarpone and roasted, peeled, & sliced red & yellow peppers. All was enjoyed with possibly our last Noceto Sangiovese (sigh!!) a 1999 - with bright cherry fruit, good acidity, and a medium long, cherry fruit finish.

Then for dessert we had a nice crisp Pink Lady apple with a couple glasses of Banfi Grappa di Brunello
