La Tour de Mons 2005:
If you are looking for a sense of “typicy” then you may want to look elsewhere. If you are looking for a value-driven '05 from Margaux then you may have picked out a winner. The aromatics are not off the charts, but they are nice, full of crushed, ripe blackberries and a hint of vanilla. Cedar and Christmas cake, along with a little smoke and spice make up a nice, reasonable wine . . . not just for the price either. Drink it soon though folks as I doubt we are talking about much future potential here. 87 points

One of the most corked bottles I have ever experienced. This was the only bottle I owned. Is it worth searching out? Flawed/NR
John, how were the tannins on the Tour de Mons? Have one btl in the cellar, wasn’t planning on touching it for several yrs, assuming it’d be closed like most '05s now. Any chance it was partially closed? Will it last a few yrs, if not improve at least not decline, do you think?
